Harvey West Park Ballfields The
City of Santa Cruz Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of reservable
athletic facilities for everything from softball to beach volleyball. Reserving
is easy. Fees are reasonable. Choose from

of DeLaveaga Park Fields for softball games or practice are available
at Harvey West and DeLaveaga Parks. Harvey West Park Fields 2 & 3 (located
in the Stadium) are perfect for informal games or practices. Fields 5 & 6
at Harvey West Park (next to Portuguese Hall) offer bleachers, dugouts, lights,
clay/cinder infields and parking nearby. DeLaveaga Fields 1 & 2 offer a beautiful
setting for your game or tournament (see more about DeLaveaga under tournament

of DeLaveaga Park Planning a special softball tournament? DeLaveaga
is the perfect site! DeLaveaga features bleachers, lights, dugouts, clay/cinder
infields, restrooms and limited parking. Call 420-5270 for information. Natural Bridges Gymnasium
255 Swift Street Natural Bridges Gym accommodates basketball and volleyball
with ease. Featuring bleachers, glass backboards with breakaway rims and a wood
floor with ample parking nearby--Natural Bridges is a great choice for your special

Volleyball Courts Main Beach Sun, sand and beach volleyball!

Civic Auditorium 307 Church Street
Centrally located in downtown Santa Cruz--the Civic works for basketball and volleyball
games or tourneys, and rainy day practices. Ample parking, box office services
and a professional staff make the Civic an excellent site for your sporting event.

Beach Located on the west side of the municipal wharf, this
area is suitable for some types of athletic events. Specific areas of this intimate
strand may be also reserved for weddings, picnics, and private or corporate parties.
Just in front of the Coast Santa Cruz Hotel, this section of the beach is ideal
for smaller gatherings ranging from 1-400 people. Portions of the beach are close
to restrooms, parking, and electricity. Amplified sound is allowed with an additional
permit. ($33 fee) Main Beach Located in front of Beach Street and
to the east side of the municipal wharf, Main Beach is ideal for larger events
such as corporate gatherings or sporting tournaments. Framed between the ocean
and the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, this 1000 yard stretch of sand is suitable
for events 6000+ in attendance. Portions of the beach are close to restrooms,
parking, and electricity. Amplified sound is allowed with an additional permit.
($33 fee) Volleyball Courts 14 beach volleyball courts are available
for rent on the main beach in Santa Cruz. All courts have professional grade nets
and different heights for men and women. The courts are frequented by both amateur
and professional members of the sport, as well as several national tournaments.
Parking and restrooms are both located nearby on Beach Street.

of facility use fees effective March 10, 2008. Prices listed are for city
residents. Non-city residents add $20.00 to fee total. Special events requiring
Conditions of Use pertaining to insurance, parking etc add $50 to fee total.
Day rate is for 8 hours. An hourly rate of $20 per hour is charged for
each hour in excess of 8 hours. Parking fees are not included in facility
reservation fees; metered parking will be enforced. -
Event to begin and end on time. -
Smoking is prohibited
in all indoor public facilities and on Cowell's and Main Beach. -
Decorations
subject to rules and regulations of each facility. -
Set up and clean up
are the responsibility of the permittee (except at the Civic Auditorium). -
Alcohol may only be consumed in reservable picnic areas by permit. (Alcohol
may not be consumed at any ballfields or beach areas.) -

Reservations (and requests for sound permits) must be made a minimum
of 7 working days in advance. -
Reservations are accepted on a first-come,
first-served basis, so early reservation is recommended. -
Cancellation
of reservations must be made at least 30 days in advance to receive a 50% refund
of fees. Cancellations made less than 30 days prior are non-refundable. -
Sales
of any kind must be approved by City Council. (Non-profit groups may submit a
written request for permission for sales from the Director of Parks and Recreation.)
The City requires a percentage of gross sales. -
A 5% admission tax is required
for all events charging admission and/or booth fees. -
Policies regarding
insurance, deposits and cancellations vary by facility. Please check the application
packet for the facility you are reserving. - Sound permits are allowed for
designated areas only. Sound will be discontinued if it interferes with other
park users. There is a $33 fee for all sound permits.
