Summer 2008 Registration - How to Register

Online - Mail - In-Person - Phone - Policies

Register Online:

  • Beginning Saturday, April 19.
  • City residents register beginning at 8 am
  • Non-City residents register beginning at 10:00 am. You will need your account number and PIN before you can register online. Set up your account now.
  • Go to instaReg.
  • Credit cards only. MasterCard and VISA accepted.
  • No computer? Go to Louden Nelson Center Computer Center, 301 Center Street on April 19 (8 am - 10:00 am for City residents; 10 am to noon for non-City residents). Bring your class choices and payment to Louden Nelson. Se habla espanol.

    Proof of Residency:

  • Proof of residency: City limits are Natural Bridges State Park to Highway 17 at Carbonero Drive to Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor. Mail-in registrants who reside in the City of Santa Cruz must provide proof of residency with their mail-in registration. If paying by check, the address on your printed check must match the address on your registration form. If the address on your personal check is different, or if you are using a PO Box, or if you are paying by money order or credit card, you must provide proof of residency with registration. A copy of your utility bill, driver’s license, deposit slip or other proof of residency is acceptable.

    Register by Mail:

  • Mail registration form, checks and self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) to:

  • Write a separate check for each activity, payable to "City of Santa Cruz."
  • Mailed registrations will be processed beginning Saturday, April 19 with City residents receiving priority. Mailed registrations received prior to April 21 will be held and processed on April 19.
  • No walk in registrations will be accepted prior to April 30. (See below.)
  • Receipts confirming enrollment will be mailed to you only if you provide a SASE.
  • If activity is full your name will automatically be placed on a waiting list.
  • The Registration Form can be downloaded as an Adobe Acrobat PDF file and printed out.
    Register in Person:
  • Walk in registrations will be accepted beginning Wednesday, April 30 at the Parks and Recreation Office, 323 Church Street.
  • NO WALK-IN REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED PRIOR TO APRIL 30.
  • Register for Aquatics classes at Harvey West Pool beginning
    April 30.

  • City residents must verify residency with I.D. or utility bill showing address.

  • Cash, check(s), VISA, MasterCard accepted.

    Register by Phone:
  • Beginning Tuesday, May 6, 9 am- 4 pm Monday-Friday. Call 420-5270 to register.
  • Phone in registration is available up to five working days prior
    to start of class. Please use other registration options if the
    class start date is less than five business days away.
  • Credit cards only! MasterCard and VISA accepted.
  • Have your credit card and course numbers ready.
  • Confirmation of enrollment will be mailed to you.

    Policies:
    Class Fees: Where two fees are listed Santa Cruz City residents (R) pay the lower fee and Non-city residents (N) pay the higher, i.e. $42.00(R)/$52.00(N).
    •   Advance registration required for all classes.
    •   Age level indicates the age that participant must be by the first day of class.
    Refunds and Transfers: When a class is cancelled by the Parks and Recreation Department, a full refund will be given to each registrant. When a registrant withdraws from a class, the following options are available:

    1. If more than 10 business days before the first class meeting:

    • TRANSFER fee to another Parks and Recreation class.
    A $5 processing fee is charged per registrant, per class.
    • WITHDRAW with a credit to the Parks and Recreation account. A $5 processing fee is charged per registrant, per class.
    • REFUND of class fee. A $20 refund fee is charged per registrant, per class.

    2. From 10 to 4 business days before the first class:

    • TRANSFER or WITHDRAWAL- same as above.
    • REFUND of class fee IF the withdrawal does not drop total class enrollment below the minimum required for the class to be held. Registrant may subsequently receive a refund if additional enrollments are received. (Details provided on request.) A $20 refund fee (per registrant, per class) is charged.

    3. From 3 business days before the first class:

    • No refunds, transfers or credits will be given.
    • Business Days are Monday-Friday, excluding City holidays.
    • Credit balances can be used for other classes.
    • Please allow up to 3 weeks to receive a refund check.

    Out of respect for citizens with multiple chemical sensitivities the Parks and Recreation Department asks that you attend activities scent free and smoke free.
